Security Researcher — Applied Cryptography

Full-time

Security Research · Remote (Global) · Posted 2026-05-11

Our security research team operates at the boundary between academic cryptography and production systems. We're looking for a researcher who enjoys finding vulnerabilities in cryptographic protocols and building proof-of-concept exploits — then working with engineering to fix them.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct security reviews of cryptographic protocols and implementations
  • Develop proof-of-concept attacks against proposed designs
  • Author research papers and technical blog posts on findings
  • Collaborate with the cryptographer team on protocol improvements
  • Build internal security testing tools and fuzzing infrastructure
  • Monitor and triage external vulnerability reports

Requirements

  • Strong applied cryptography background — you know the difference between IND-CPA and IND-CCA2
  • 3+ years of security research or penetration testing experience
  • Proficiency in at least one systems language (Rust, C, C++)
  • Experience with protocol analysis and formal methods
  • Track record of finding and responsibly disclosing vulnerabilities

Nice to Have

  • Published CVEs or bug bounty recognitions
  • Experience with symbolic execution or SMT solvers
  • Conference presentations (Black Hat, CCC, Real World Crypto, etc.)
  • Familiarity with side-channel analysis (timing, power, EM)
